youth peace culture festival 2005 After months of preparations and trainings, the long awaited Youth Peace Culture Festival 2005 (YCF) comprising eight performances by three Headquarters spanning three weekends unfolded on July 2, 2005. The HQ1 show, "Rainbow of Peace", was held in conjunction with the launch of North East Racial Harmony Month. It was held at the Singapore Expo Hall 5 on July 2. The performance was graced by guest-of-honour Mr Mah Bow Tan, Minister for National Development and Mr Zainul Abidin Rasheed, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Mayor of North East Community Development Council (CDC). "Diversity is Strength -- as long as we recognize our unique mission and tap into our potential" was the message underlying the three shows put up by Headquarters Two (HQ2) held on July 9 and 10, 2005 at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall. Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Minister of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports, was the guest-of-honour on the opening night on 9 July 2005. HQ2 YCF was part of the project in celebration of SHINE, a youth festival supported by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports and the National Youth Council. The event was also supported by the South West CDC. With the theme "You Are A Star", dazzling faces from Headquarters Three (HQ3), including, the youngest performers aged seven, and the most senior, 75 years old, captivated the audience with their vitality and joy on July 16 and 17 at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall. The high-energy performance was graced by Mayor of Central Singapore District, Mr Heng Chee How.
