youth peace conference The Youth Peace Conference was an initiative by the SSA Youth Division in 2001 immediately after the tragedy of September 11. It is an effort to promote learning and dialogue among youths on issues pertaining to peace, culture and education thus inspiring youths to play an active and contributive role in building peace in society. It was a prelude to the Youth Peace Carnival held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in December 2001, where a gathering of 10,000 youths including 25 youth grassroots organizations and youth culture groups, came together in a peace concert to make a declaration for peace. |
